Embedding a Green Legacy in North Glasgow

Ng Homes share thoughts after winning Awards Panel Choice at Climate Challenge Fund Awards.

We are delighted to share the final film that celebrates the winners of the Climate Challenge Fund (CCF) Awards.

The CCF Awards took place at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh on 1 November and celebrated the achievements of CCF projects running from 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017.

Embedding a Green Legacy in North Glasgow, run by Ng Homes in Glasgow won the CCF Awards Panel Choice Category. We were pleased to catch up with Margaret Fraser to hear her thoughts about the project and winning the award.

The ‘CCF Awards Panel Choice’ highlighted a specific element of innovative feature of a project that has made an important contribution to local action on climate change through the CCF. North Glasgow Housing Association stood out to the CCF Awards Panel as organisation that could easily have taken a top down approach to this project, but instead it embraced the ‘community’ ethos of the CCF, building the project based on a community identified need, always listening for feedback, using community events to build support.  The result was a project that had an impressive impact with a well established legacy to continue delivering carbon savings.

You can find out more about all the other CCF Award winners and shortlisted nominees through the CCF Awards webpages.

The CCF is a Scottish Government grants programme, managed and administered by Keep Scotland Beautiful, which provides funding and support for community groups to tackle climate change through community-led projects that reduce local carbon emissions.
