Whorterbank Tattie Patch

2018 Certificate
Level 5 - Outstanding
The Tattie Patch was just a rough, weedy space in a severely deprived part of Dundee. OPFS runs a kids’ club there and the children wanted to grow some vegetables, so the group dug it over, put in a path and planted it up. The tattie harvest was so good it was featured on the STV news, and lots of local people got some to take home. The children also grew peas, carrots, onions, beans and oats! The project expanded into the play park and shrub beds last year, with fruit trees and bushes.
