St Francis Primary School - The Patch
St Francis PS has established a school allotment, supported by its family group which maintains it, to grow fruit and vegetables and learn about biodiversity. The school classes use the allotment to grow plants and find out about nature and wildlife. Through developing its community allotment, it has built strong partnerships with parents and the community, developing knowledge and skills for life in all aspects of nutrition and food. It focuses on encouraging families to taste and sample products grown, during events such as the Big Soup event and bingo or film nights which bring the community together.
