Riverside Nature Park
The Riverside Nature Park (RNP) was created in 2011 on the site of the old landfill area next to the River Tay. The Park is 33 hectares of green space with varied wildlife habitats and its own herd of Highland Coos within the limits of Dundee City. The RNP attracts visitors with events and volunteering days featuring the Park's wildlife during the year. Cyclists, walkers, young families and joggers visit regularly as well as schools and mental health charities. Over 140 species of birds have been recorded and it is being recognised as a remarkable wildlife resource with two hides and views over the Tay. The RNP friends meet regularly to arrange forthcoming events. Recently there has been a composting toilet erected with assistance from 'Bags for Help', a useful acquisition to most!
