Recovery Garden Group
The Recovery Garden Group consists of people either in recovery from substance misuse themselves or friends and family members meeting weekly at the Grove Nurseries using a council polytunnel. At the start of the season they choose what they want to grow, then cultivate and harvest the produce, distributing it among themselves and surplus goes to a cooking project run by the charity every Friday evening. They maintain a planter in the city centre, dedicated to people who have lost their lives to addiction, and work with Aberdeen Inspired, producing tubs of flowers for premises to display in the Castlegate.
In 2018, Alcohol and Drugs Action Recovery Garden Project was awarded a Certificate of Distinction to further recognise the groups' achievements.
