Lochend Community Growing Project
Lochend Community Growing Project was created by the charity Carr Gomm which wished to develop derelict greenspaces in the area to encourage people to lead healthier lives. Lochend Secret Garden was the first project developed over the winter of 2011/12 by developing a derelict greenspace. There are 52 individual growing beds and outreach beds for use by groups in the area, a large shed and polytunnel and a pizza oven. Workshops and social events are held throughout the year which are open to all in the community.
In 2018, Lochend Community Growing Project was awarded a Certificate of Distinction to further recognise the groups' achievements.
