Shiell Street Community Garden was started in 2015 by the Green Growers. The group turned a derelict piece of land into a thriving, colourful garden, full of wildlife and flowers for everyone to enjoy. Throughout the years, the group has worked with the neighbours, the ‘Nature Nutters’ and the local nursery, ‘Great Beginnings’. So far, the group has added a pond, two gabion walls, a path and lots of flowers and also removed lots of weeds! In the future, the group is looking to add a minibeast hotel with the help of local community groups.
