Friends of Holmhills Wood Community Park
This is a large woodland park which is an important part of the greenspace in Central Cambuslang. It is situated right next to a High School, an additional needs secondary school, a large primary school and a community nursery so is on the doorstep for a lot of children’s outdoor learning. The group is happy to liaise where possible with teachers, support staff and community groups to facilitate outdoor learning wherever possible. As a proposed Local Nature Reserve, the group is keen to preserve the natural environment found in the park. Lots of wildlife finds a home in the park - a large number of birds, deer, foxes, toads, frogs, newts, dragonflies, squirrels, hedgehogs as well as a large local dog population. There are also three man-made ponds, a large field area, several wooded areas and a network of paths.
