Friends of Centenary & West End Parks
The group, which formed in 2004, is made up of volunteers from the local area. They work closely with North Lanarkshire Council, with the aim of maintaining and improving the facilities and ambiance of this valued open space. Over the years the group has introduced many initiatives into the park including an historic trail, a winter evening odyssey trail, restored an historic monument, lighting projects, a wildlife pond, three play areas and a sensory garden. In all, over £800,000 has been received in grants from many funders.
In 2018, Friends of Centenary & West End Parks was awarded a Certificate of Distinction to further recognise the groups' achievements.
