Erskine Community Garden

The Erskine Community Garden idea has existed for a few years now. The group was finally granted a licence in 2018, for a piece of land within Barwood Park, Erskine. Physical work started on 1st July 2018.
Phase 1 was to clear the ground; the group discovered a long forgotten path and exposed trees and shrubs that hadn't seen the light of day in a long time. The volunteers removed self-seeding trees and mutant roses! They also created a fairy village and have held events within the garden, for the community as a whole.
The group’s objectives for the coming year are to develop a small orchard, create raised beds for community use and make a zen garden style area for those seeking some quiet and peaceful mindfulness. It is also looking at introducing sensory areas, incorporating plants that appeal to the senses.
