Shore Sweepers is a group of volunteers who work along a 10 mile stretch of shore in Argyll. Originally formed to beach clean, the group soon started expanding, clearing and planting areas that had become neglected. Last year it joined forces with Kilmun Community Council and was successful in obtaining a grant for equipment from Argyll and Bute Council. It has also helped with gardening at a local care home and primary school. The group’s new project this year is planting out more tubs along the shore. It hopes to keep on expanding its volunteer base and engaging with the community to 'keep Scotland beautiful'.
