Lauder Primary School Gardening Club
Lauder Primary School Gardening Club is run by parent volunteers who come in every week to run Gardening Club sessions with one year group. The group aims to show the children all about growing their own fruit and vegetables using organic, sustainable and environmentally friendly methods. It also has a wildlife garden and access to a small woodland. The children join the Gardening Club in the spring term and stay for a full calendar year, so they get to sow, harvest, cook and eat their own produce. The group also likes to share its gardening skills and knowledge with the local community. Its latest community project involves working with local assisted housing residents creating a wildlife garden in their grounds for them and their visitors to enjoy.
