Friends of the Earth Falkirk
Friends of the Earth Falkirk started community gardening as a response to the litter issue in Falkirk. It's initial two gardens were a direct response to litter blackspots in the town centre. The more substantial of the town centre gardens is the Bean Row Vegetable Garden, where the planting and harvest is geared towards the groups’ now annual Soup and Stovies event. This is a celebration of local food and community volunteering, where the group shares vegetarian and vegan food. The community garden project has enabled the campaigning group to feel more "rooted in Falkirk", while campaigning locally, nationally and globally.
