Douglas Community Garden
The garden was built on a school demolition site, paid for by the council and run by the Douglas Open Spaces Group. It is only in its third season but has an orchard, twenty raised beds all tended by local residents or community groups, and an ornamental space built and tended by one of the members. Last year was extremely productive, allowing for lots of vegetables to be given away and used in the community café. This year there is a bed dedicated to supplying the Food Bank.
