Fisherrow Sands, in Musselburgh, East Lothian, is a much cherished beach among locals and visitors alike. The beach offers stunning views across the Firth of Forth and is a popular spot for families, dog walkers and harbour users.
As one of three #MyBeachYourBeach locations, pilot interventions are being rolled out along this sandy shoreline during summer 2018 as part of a bathing water improvement plan for Fisherrow Sands. This work complements a range of improvement works being undertaken by Scottish Water and Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) in the area, to tackle sources of bathing water pollution outlined in Fisherrow Sands' bathing water profile. A live signage board on site advises beach users of the water quality, and you can also view live bathing water information via the SEPA bathing water app.
