Coupar Angus Pride of Place

Couper Angus Pride of Place
Entrant Category: Large Village

Pride of Place group was formed in 2006, with the main objective to restore pride to the village of Coupar Angus through physical environmental improvements and by socially uniting the community through support for social activities. The group's efforts over the years has been rewarded, when in 2013 the village a won Gold Medal and Large Village Category, plus a Special Commendation in the Community Award in Britain in Bloom. In 2014 the village won the Rosebowl in Beautiful Scotland. These awards have done much to restore pride in Coupar Angus. The group works with, and for, the community, and with the local school in maintaining that pride in the village. In 2016, that work included a One Planet Picnic in their new Community Woodland.

In 2017, Coupar Angus Pride of Place was one of eight Beautiful Scotland groups representing Scotland in the RHS Britain in Bloom finals. The group was awarded a Gold in the 'Large Village' category. For a list of all the winners, click here.
