Live Lesson: Dealing with Disinformation
Thanks to technology, people can access unlimited information from a mobile phone, and have their views seen by millions. But the same technology that allows us to keep in touch with faraway friends can also be a source of disinformation. Described as being among the biggest challenges of the 21st Century, disinformation is a particular challenge in climate action.
In this Live Lesson, we give pupils the tools to identify disinformation and stop it by working through real life examples. This is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to learn important transferable skills in investigation, reasoning and digital literacy.

All ages are welcome, but the lesson is primarily aimed at P7 and secondary school pupils.
Lesson details
In this lesson we discuss what disinformation is and why it matters. Using real life examples we help young people identify sources of disinformation. We then share some simple tools that can be used to stop disinformation in its tracks.
Following the lesson, use our climate change report resource to find good sources of information and submit an entry to our Young Reporters for the Environment competition.
