West Partnership Inservice Day

This session is open to all educators within the West Partnership Regional Collaborative. That is, all educators in East Dunbartonshire, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire, Glasgow City Council, South Lanarkshire, Inverclyde and West Dunbartonshire.

Session 1: 10 am – 12 noon

Session 2: 1.15 pm – 3.15 pm

Keep Scotland Beautiful’s Eco-Schools Scotland programme provides a framework to support a whole school, pupil led, approach to Learning for Sustainability as recognised by HGIOS4 as highly effective practice.

Aim: Climate Ready Classrooms is a one-day curricular relevant learning opportunity, supporting secondary schools to develop a better understanding of climate change and identify opportunities to take action to reduce carbon footprints. The programme is supported by the Scottish Government, delivered by Keep Scotland Beautiful and accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project, with the aim to reach 50% of secondary schools across all Local Authorities over the next 18 months.

Content: This workshop will support development of this flexible framework within your own school context with a focus on climate action through your own school context with a focus on climate action through our Climate Ready Classrooms programme.

  • Build your confidence to develop your work through the lens of climate change
  • Support development of the Eco-Schools flexible framework within your own school context
  • Incorporate ideas and examples from our accredited Climate Ready Classrooms programme, the first accredited Carbon Literacy training programme for secondary schools in the UK.
