Are you interested or involved with community growing in Ayrshire?

This day is for anyone actively involved or with a personal or professional interest in communi growing.

Attendees will visit two recently established East Ayrshire community gardens:

  • Netherthird Community Garden - Established in 2016. Voluntary managed and run by the local community, the garden has close links to the local primary school, running and hosting community events and a focus on providing skills training for young people.
  • The Knowe Garden Centre, Auchinleck - The team at the centre manage a 2.5 acre site. With knowledge and recent experience in establishing maintenance contracts and developing training opportunities through Community Jobs Scotland. They have good local support with a series of well attended open days and work with the local school and dementia centre.

Hear from both gardens about how they realised their vision, lessons learned and their plans for the future.

There will be time for discussion around themes common to the network and for informal discussion and networking over lunch.
