Climate Challenge Fund Transport Gathering 2018
Registration, tea and coffee from 09:30, event starts at 10:00
The 2018 Transport Gathering will bring together community-led organisations from all over Scotland who are working to reduce emissions in their area by helping people to reduce their reliance on the car and travel by foot, bike or public transport instead.
Keep Scotland Beautiful invites community-led organisations who are actively involved, or interested in, taking action on climate change in their communities through transport projects to what should be an interesting and inspiring day. The event has been organised as part of our management of the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund.
The day will be an opportunity for you to learn about and discuss the challenges and opportunities for Scotland’s communities to reduce their carbon emissions, with particular reference to the Scottish Government's Climate Change Plan and the targets set out in Scotland's new Climate Change Bill.
Structure of the day
The day will start off with a presentation from Keep Scotland Beautiful on the targets set out in the Climate Change Bill. We will then hear from three to four community organisations on how they are reducing carbon emissions in their community in relation to transport
Over an extended lunch break we’ll have the opportunity to share tips and ideas on how to get people on their bikes and perhaps go on a led cycle ride around the local area.
Explore what Scotland may look like in 2050 and have the opportunity to network with other community groups.
