The 2018 Reuse and Repair Gathering will bring together community-led organisations from all over Scotland who are working to reduce carbon emissions in their area by reducing consumption through swapping, loaning, reuse and repair.

Keep Scotland Beautiful invites community-led organisations who are actively involved, or interested in, taking action on climate change in their communities to what should be an interesting and inspiring day. The event has been organised as part of our management of the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund.

The day will be an opportunity for you to learn about and discuss the challenges and opportunities for Scotland’s communities to reduce their carbon emissions, with particular reference to the Scottish Government's Climate Change Plan and the targets set out in Scotland's new Climate Change Bill.

Structure of the day

Morning Session

The day will start off with a presentation from Keep Scotland Beautiful on the targets set out in the Climate Change Bill. We will then hear from three to four community organisations on how they are reducing carbon emissions in their community in relation to waste.

Networking Lunch

Over an extended lunch break we’ll have a tour of the Kinning Park Complex and learn what they are doing to reduce waste.

Afternoon

Explore what Scotland may look like in 2050 and have the opportunity to network with other community groups.
