Climate Challenge Fund Home Energy & Community Buildings Gathering 2018
Registration, tea and coffee from 09:30, event starts at 10:00
The 2018 Home Energy and Community Buildings Gathering will bring together community-led organisations from all over Scotland who are working to reduce emissions where they are by reducing energy usage in homes and in community buildings.
Keep Scotland Beautiful invites community-led organisations who are actively involved, or interested in, taking action on climate change in their communities through reducing energy use, to what should be an interesting and inspiring day. The event has been organised as part of our management of the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund.
The day will be an opportunity for you to learn about and discuss the challenges and opportunities for Scotland’s communities to reduce their carbon emissions, with particular reference to the Scottish Government's Climate Change Plan and the targets set out in Scotland's new Climate Change Bill.
Structure of the day
The day will start off with a presentation from Keep Scotland Beautiful on the targets set out in the Climate Change Bill and explore the climate change plan. We will then hear from two or three community organisations on how they are reducing carbon emissions in their community in relation to energy and what they see as the challenges and opportunities going forward.
Over an extended lunch break we’ll have a tour of Gate Church who have undergone an eco-refurbishment.
Explore what Scotland may look like in 2050 and have the opportunity to network with other community groups.
From 01 August 2018 10:00 to 16:00
