Climate Challenge Fund Food Gathering 2018
Registration, tea and coffee from 09:30, event starts at 10:00
The 2018 Food Gathering will bring together community-led organisations from all over Scotland who are working to reduce emissions in their local area by encouraging the production and consumption of local food and reducing food waste.
Keep Scotland Beautiful invites community-led organisations who are actively involved, or interested in, taking action on climate change in their communities through food, to what should be an interesting and inspiring day. The event has been organised as part of our management of the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund.
The day will be an opportunity for you to learn about and discuss the challenges and opportunities for Scotland’s communities to reduce their carbon emissions, with particular reference to the Scottish Government's Climate Change Plan and the new targets set out in Scotland's new Climate Change Bill.
Structure of the day
The day will start off with a presentation from Keep Scotland Beautiful on the targets set out in the Climate Change Bill and explore the Scottish Government's Climate Change Plan. We will then hear from two or three community organisations on how they are reducing carbon emissions in their community in relation to food.
Over an extended lunch break we will take a tour of the Ecology Centre and see the work that they have put in over the last few years.
Explore what Scotland may look like in 2050 and have the opportunity to network with other community groups.
From 07 August 2018 10:00 to 16:00
at The Ecology Centre, Fife
