Green Key in Scotland: Official Launch

There’s an open invitation on 8 September for Scotland’s tourism and hospitality establishments to find out more about how their green recovery plans from COVID-19 might become reality with support from us through the international eco-label Green Key.

We will officially launch Green Key in Scotland at an online event for potential Green Key applicants. At the event we will outline the benefits of Green Key in helping tourism and hospitality businesses to recover from COVID-19, with contributions from VisitScotland covering responsible tourism while the Foundation for Environmental Education will explain the international reputation of Green Key. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions online and book time for a more in-depth conversation about their sustainability plans.

Green Key is an international eco-label for tourism facilities. Since 1994, Green Key has been a leading standard of excellence in environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry. In Scotland, we are delivering the Green Key programme on behalf of the Foundation for Environmental Education.

Green Key is open to a wide range of businesses including hotels, visitor attractions, conference centres, restaurants and campsites and helps them meet global environmental standards set by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council and recognised by the UN World Tourism Organisation.

Joining Green Key in Scotland also gives access to technical support from us to ensure year-on-year environmental improvements that can also help businesses to reduce costs by cutting waste and saving energy.
