Evidence, Notebooks and Statements
All of our training courses are now delivered online via Teams. No fixed dates have been set as these will be determined when a practical number of attendees have indicated an interest.
Some courses have been split into three or four sessions which will be delivered over one to four days. Each session lasts around two to three hours.
If there is a course you would like to attend, please get in touch with the name of the course and your preferred contact details and we can discuss requirements and costs. We will then let you know when the next sessions will be delivered.
The course carries a maximum value of 3.5 hours (core activity) for the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme.
This one-day course is suitable for enforcement officers and statutory duty body holders, and covers the rules of evidence, obtaining statements, official notebooks, photographs and productions, as well as how to report offenders to the Procurator Fiscal and how to present evidence in court. This session complements our Fixed Penalty Notices and Court Experience training.
By the end of the training you will be able to:
- Use and summarise the different types of evidence.
- Obtain statements confidently.
- Compile notebooks correctly.
- Label productions appropriately.
- Support the proper use of photographs.
