Scotland's Local Environmental Quality Seminar 2021/22

We have an upcoming Local Environmental Quality seminar 24 January 2023 looking at 'Working in partnership to address the litter emergency'

Scotland's Local Environmental Quality seminar took place on 21 October 2021 online

With the Scottish Government committed to bringing forward a consultation paper later in 2021 on a new national litter and flytipping strategy, this online event provided an opportunity for a broad range of stakeholders from all sectors to come together and discuss how we can improve local environmental quality across Scotland.

Following on from the successful Litter Summit in March 2021, this event included an overview of local environmental quality in Scotland, including the latest data and research from Keep Scotland Beautiful, a chance to hear more about the developing national litter and flytipping strategy, and to network and share best practice.

Litter in Scotland - discussing public perceptions and future actions

8 February 2022, 10:00-11:30am

As well as Scotland's Local Environmental Quality Seminar 2021/22 we are also hosting an online event this year for discussion around key themes on tackling litter. The event will include a presentation of the results of our Scottish Litter Survey report, which highlights the publics’ perceptions of littering and littering behaviour, and an update from the Scottish Government on the progress of the National Litter and Flytipping Strategy, which is currently open for consultation.

A large proportion of the event provides an opportunity to discuss key themes, challenges, and solutions with other stakeholders.

Key discussion themes include:

  • Changing behaviours
  • The value of data
  • Community action

We hope this discussion will help attendees form their response to the National Litter and Flytipping Strategy consultation, as well as provide an opportunity for us to hear others' views, and inform our thinking.

Please get in touch with us to find out more information and the agenda.
