Corporate Social Responsibility

What is Corporate Social Responsibility?

Corporate Social Responsibility, or CSR, is the action an organisation voluntarily takes to contribute to sustainable development. There is no set activity to improve CSR and it can depend on organisation type, activity, local area and employees. If you are looking to improve your Corporate Social Responsibility we can help. We offer services that can help you and there are many ways you can support us to continue our work tackling environmental issues and inspire community action.

Some examples of how we can support you are below. To discuss how we can help improve your Corporate Social Responsibility please get in touch: katie.murray@keepscotlandbeautiful.org

Ways we can support you

Support Keep Scotland Beautiful

You can also improve your CSR by supporting our work to reduce litter and waste, protect our heritage and local environments, combat climate change and inspire community action. Your organisation can get involved in many ways, including sponsorship of our activities, supporting our campaigns, making us as your charity of choice or simply donating.

Benchmark your CSR and environmental management

Our National Award for Environmental Excellence® assesses workplaces on CSR, environmental management and community engagement, as well as other criteria. We produce reports with recommendations on improvements so if you are looking to benchmark against other organisations, or between sites you manage, and find out what to do better this may be for you.

The Procurement Reform Act

The Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 sets out that all new contracts over £4 million being procured by a contracting authority must include a community benefit requirement. This means that if your business is tendering for applicable contracts you must be able to respond by identifying how best to incorporate robust and relevant community benefit work into your tender process. These community benefits must be particularly helpful to disadvantaged groups or areas. Please do get in touch to find out how we can help you meet the community benefit aspect of your bid.
