Heritage

Heritage

Heritage is all around us. It makes us who we are and shapes the environment we live in. It is the people, places, objects and traditions that help us understand who we are and where we come from. Heritage can be described as things we inherit that have cultural value. Heritage can be tangible, meaning we can see it and touch it, or intangible, linked to memories, ideas, knowledge or skills.

The Heritage Topic has a natural overlap with the School Grounds, Food & the Environment and the Global Citizenship topics.

Heritage Topic at St Patrick's PS

This video shows the work that has been going on at St Patrick's Primary School in Coatbridge as part of the new Heritage Topic. They explored their local heritage by conducting interviews, handled historic artefacts and gathered family recipes from across the school community to create their own cookbook.
