Located on the east of Kingsbarns the beach stretches for about two miles and is bordered by rolling sand dunes. A very popular beach with walkers the Fife Coastal Footpath passes above it. Nearby is Cambo golf course. Located on the North Sea the beach is exposed to the east winds. There is plenty of space on this beach for all the family and is a favourite stopping place for picnics.
The name derives from the area being the location of the barns used to store grain before being transported to the Palace at Falkland. The forming of the Kingsbarns Golfing Society in 1793 began the village's long association with golf. Kingsbarns Golf Links is a man-made links course opened in 2000, it has co-hosted the European Tour's Dunhill Links Championship along with the Old Course at St Andrews and Carnoustie since 2001.
Good open views out to the North Sea, with the coastal path and golf-course nearby.
The village and parish of Kingsbarns in Scotland lies near the eastern coast of Fife, in an area known as the East Neuk, 6.5 miles (10.5 km) southeast of St Andrews and 3.6 miles (5.8 km) north of Crail. Located on the east of Kingsbarns, the beach stretches for about two miles and is bordered by rolling sand dunes. Fife Coastal Footpath passes above and it is very popular with walkers.
The beach is off the A917 Crail - St. Andrews and a 10 minutes walk from village. There is ample car parking.
