The Sorted Project
The Sorted Project provides support for men and women in recovery from substance dependency and mental health who seek well-being activities following treatment. It provides a unique venue in a peaceful setting on the Union Canal, on board a purpose-built canal boat called Panacea. Participants learn how to crew and take care of Panacea. The group maintains the canal and surroundings with regular litter-picking and maintains trees and shrubs. The members learn about how climate change is affecting the environment and what they can do to help. The group has planted a mini fruit orchard and also planted wildflowers for pollinators along the canal. This year they are learning about maintaining a beehive.
