Fittie Community Development Trust
The Trust has been establishing the new Community Hall on New Pier Road as a shared space in the village. Their gardeners are developing a wildlife friendly garden around it, which can provide additional outdoor space for events and activities at the hall. They want both to be an enjoyable meeting place for the village.
Individual volunteers also look after the large flower tubs, troughs and beds in Footdee. They organise beach clean-ups, have planted trees, spring bulbs and wildflowers, and organised veg and fruit growing in the local community during the last few years. For this year’s World Oceans Day, they organised a litter pick, rock pooling session, and a talk on local sea life.
