Level 4 - Thriving
Warriston Allotments is a large, south facing council run allotment site, founded in 1923 for unemployed residents of the city, now providing space for growing, harvesting, sharing, socialising—a place to contemplate nature and the seasons. Warriston has around 130 plots, some at the original family size and others halved to suit a 21st century working life. The site hosts an annual plant sale, has several communal areas which they manage for both human and wildlife use. It is a friendly, tranquil, special place to be.
