Recovery Garden Project

Recovery Garden Project
Certificates Level 5 - Outstanding
Certificate of Distinction

The Recovery Garden project is run by volunteers and clients of Alcohol and Drugs Action, a charity supporting people with substance misuse in Aberdeen.

They meet weekly, providing a safe place for people to learn new skills, develop new hobbies and benefit from the positive mental health opportunities gardening provides, enjoying nature and growing their own fruit and vegetables.

The project is based in a polytunnel at the council’s Grove Nursery, and they also care for some city centre planters.

They show the community that people in recovery can make a positive contribution to society, and this helps reduce stigma.
