QCHA provides wellbeing activities to support the local community. They have three Growing Spaces, including allotted raised beds, communal growing and a polytunnel.
In 2021 they began a new gardening project at Hopehill, transplanting from established sites to start a group of older people with gardening activities.
Horticultural knowledge is provided at weekly tutor led, drop-in sessions during the growing season, and Kids Outdoors sessions for younger people age 5-12yrs.
Thanks to RHS Community funding in 2022, their food growing strategy has developed, including e-bike collection of produce from all three sites to be delivered and distributed at The Courtyard Pantry Enterprise.
These sites all increase biodiversity in urban city environments.
