Friends of the Barnhill Rock Garden
The FBRG welcomes new members to their thriving gardening teams and to their other activities e.g. outings, winter talks, children events, newsletters. They continue to try to aid conservation and generate interest in the environment. This year, the Friends have funded the refurbishment of a dry-stone wall and installed a handrail at some steep, stone steps. They also have undertaken the improvement of several parts of the garden by removing old/leggy plants, replenishing the soil and replanting. Areas improved include part of the scree bed, the heather bed and another nondescript bed at the top the garden. The group continue to propagate plants for use in the garden and for selling to supplement funds.
