Broxburn and Uphall Growers Society (BUGS)

Broxburn and Uphall Growers Society (BUGS) are a group of volunteers promoting growing, especially fruit and vegetables and education about growing in the towns of Broxburn and Uphall in West Lothian. Their efforts are currently focussed on creating a community garden out of a patch of unused land next to the Strathbrock community and partnership centre, but they also maintain planters throughout both towns. The group welcomes and supports interest and participation from any individuals, groups, schools and businesses who live, work or play in the towns. They work in partnership with The Brock Garden, Wood and Craft Centre, who have been providing plants and building their raised beds.
In 2022, the group were recognised with a Keep Scotland Beautiful 'Beautiful Scotland & It's Your Neighbourhood' discretionary award - joint winner of Growing Communities Award.
