Bonnie Dundee IYN

Certificate of Distinction
Bonnie Dundee IYN plant and maintain 52 planters and two garden areas in the centre of Dundee. They work closely with Dundee City Council, and local shops and businesses, and support and contribute to the citie’s 'Flowering Dundee', Dundee Botanic’s 'Wee Forests' and climate resilient urban planting, 'Upstream Battle' and litter picks. The group works with SAMH and uses their polytunnel, but now grow the majority of flowers from seed, concentrating on planting for pollinators and passing on information to the general public via notices and 'fun' events. They practice climate friendly gardening and plant and maintain two community orchards and two herb areas.
In 2022 the group picked up two discretionary awards: the NatureScot It's Your Neighbourhood Pollinator Friendly Award - 3rd place - receiving £100 towards pollinator friendly activities; and the Keep Scotland Beautiful Beautiful Scotland & It's Your Neighbourhood discretionary award - Gardening in a Changing Climate Award (Bonnie Dundee and Bonnie Dundee IYN groups).
