Beith Orr Park Neighbourhood Watch

An area at the end of their main street was being used as a dump and was a complete eyesore. After contacting the owner, the group was given permission to use the ground to create a community garden, until such times as he may wish to sell or use it.

The group have been fairly successful with developing the place for community use, and their past two It’s Your Neighbourhood assessment visits have been as good as they could have hoped for.

The group continue to use the space, and the owner has indicated that he would like them to purchase the ground. They have considered this, but, due to the state of the two high walls on either side of the garden, they need to be sure of costs before they will pursue the ground. They will do what we can meantime.
