Allander Road Group of Milngavie in Bloom

This group, a sub-group of Milngavie in Bloom, has renovated a landscape-designed Italian Garden built in the 1970s in the Allander Road housing complex, formerly the site of a paper mill. It was very overgrown and neglected. Since 2018, the group has slowly cleared it, planted it up with colourful plants and shrubs, placed pots in it and had it completely re-slabbed. The group has also cleared adjoining beds and replanted the area with shrubs and bulbs. Residents are very involved in the projects and continue to improve other areas in the vicinity.
