Merrylee Residents Association/Merrylee Gardeners

Merrylee Residents Association/Merrylee Gardeners has been in place for many years and operates with the assistance of professional staff from the Govanhill Housing Association. The Organisation has 'fingers in many pies' but, from a horticultural perspective, it has an annual garden competition (back and front gardens for houses, balconies for flats). It also has some neighbourhood planters which committee members and volunteers are responsible for maintaining. It has a strong relationship with the local Baptist church and opportunity to volunteer in their urban orchard, and it maintains good relationships with the local allotment association and school, both of which it sometimes engages in horticultural projects with.
