Enhancing Earlston

2021 Certificate Level 2 - Improving

The group, known locally as Earlston in Bloom, was created only a couple of years ago as part of the Community Council's Action Plan, developed after a major consultation exercise.

The local hard-working volunteers have begun projects including enhancing the High Street with both summer and winter floral planters, plus baskets in summer. They also took over and planted Church Brae and hope to do the same this year at the Kidgate.

The major project, started not long before for pandemic, was to be the setting up from scratch of a community garden within the grounds of the local high school. It’s hoped to make this the main focus for 2021 as the group is now faced with starting all over again.
