Craigentinny Community Gardening Project

2021 Certificate Level 2 - Improving

A new community garden set up by a group of neighbours who wanted to do something positive for the Craigentinny community. The members have varying degrees of gardening abilities but all understand the importance of community and the benefits of community gardens on mental and physical health and decreasing social isolation. The group has 10 raised beds (so far), a portacabin and a sheltered area. It also has several fruit bushes and trees, and has planted bulbs and wildflowers. Last year was a difficult year due to coronavirus restrictions but this year the group plans to get the garden really established and looking amazing and utilised by the community.
