Strathblane Community Volunteers

A group of volunteers who pick litter in and around the two villages of Strathblane and Blanefield and the surrounding countryside. Roads north lead to The Trossachs and Loch Lomond, so lots of passing traffic, and the West Highland Way passes through at Carbeth.
The group’s aim is to encourage litter to be taken home and not left to be thrown or blown into fields where animals graze, or into small streams which feed eventually into Loch Lomond and, particularly, to avoid contributing to ongoing flood risk (the area nestles under the Campsie Fells) when gullies and drain covers are blocked.
