Level 4 - Thriving
The Tattie Patch was just a rough, weedy space in a severely deprived part of Dundee. The children at St Mary's Primary School wanted to grow some vegetables, so the classes took turns digging it over, put in a path and planted it up. The tattie harvest was so good it was featured on the STV news, and lots of local people got some to take home. The children also grew peas, carrots, onions, beans and oats! The project expanded into the play park and shrub beds last year, with fruit trees and bushes.
