Nether Loirston Growers Association

Certificate of Distinction
NLGA, with 31 growing spaces and a large polytunnel, came into being in 2011 following a successful bid to the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund. The Allotment is run by a Management Committee and the site is leased from Aberdeen City Council. The Allotmenteers come from the local community in order to reduce the carbon footprint and the group advertises itself in The Cove Chronicle and on local Community Facebook pages.
It is a happy group, growing mainly soft fruit and vegetables, and works hard to keep the site looking attractive. The Allotmenteers help one another and get involved in the local Gala where the group has a table selling mostly plants.
In 2019, Nether Loirston Growers Association was awarded a Certificate of Distinction to further recognise the groups' achievements.
