Milngavie in Bloom - Allander Road Group

A garden was designed in the centre of the Allander Road housing complex in the early 70s which won an award; it was called the Italian Garden. This was well-used by residents with children playing, children's parties and social gatherings. It fell into disrepair and Milngavie in Bloom formed a group of residents to revamp the area which is on three tiers. Over three years, it was transformed. All old plants were removed and two of the three tiers have been re-slabbed with the aid of grants. The group will complete the last section and it has all be replanted. The group view it as a work in progress.
