Level 4 - Thriving
Inch View Care Home in Edinburgh has a 'low maintenance' garden that quickly became a high maintenance garden when the plants all died. In 2019, the local school and residents, helped by the RHS, replaced the worst part of the dead hebe garden with colour and contrast.
Since it opened, residents at the home have also been growing vegetables in raised beds and later in a polytunnel built by volunteers.
The group had big hopes for 2020 but now wonder how the garden can thrive in a lock-down situation. Can Distanced Gardening work?
