Friends of the Calder

Friends of the Calder is a volunteer environmental group which has existed for six years, going from strength to strength. In 2016, with support from Countryside Rangers and the Froglife project, a pond was created. Over the next year, this area was developed through the addition of aquatic plants and a wildflower meadow. The group carries out frequent litter picks, organises the collection of flytipped material, and regularly captures and shares photographs of local nature. Volunteers organised lots of events in 2019, and aim to bring together people of all ages to take care and enjoy the woodlands.
