Fittie Community Development Trust (SC046775)

Certificate of Distinction
The Trust is working to improve the local environment for residents and visitors alike. The gardening group is looking after the Community Hall garden, where it hopes to establish more seaside-tolerant plants to support the local wildlife, especially pollinating insects. The garden can be used during events at the Hall and provides an enjoyable meeting place for the neighbourhood.
The Trust has received funds as part of a Big Lottery grant to support locals during the Covid-lockdown. It has organised supplies for residents to grow their own vegetables, herbs and fruit this season.
Individual volunteers look after the many flower tubs in Footdee. The Trust also organises beach clean-ups, plants spring bulbs in autumn and hopes to re-introduce native coastal wildflowers along the beach.
