Ury Riverside Park
The Ury Riverside Park SCIO manages the Ury Riverside Park as ‘a park for people and wildlife to enjoy together’, in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council which currently owns the land. The 65 hectare park on the flood plain of the River Ury in Inverurie has been managed by the SCIO for around six years, starting off with a former cereal field. The SCIO has been successful in attracting external funding and donations to develop a path network accessible to all, develop areas of wildflower meadows, create new woodland, design, and install interpretation panels.
The park is also attracting a great range of wildlife too including some unusual or locally uncommon species including common partridge, kingfisher, osprey and otter as well as plenty of common wildlife.
